I have grown up in a very musical family and have since been immersed in theater, dance, singing and instrumental playing.
--Started singing at the age of 2 when my family of 7 started traveling to different churches and performing an hour long skit we had developed, which involved singing/acting/dancing. This ended by the time I reached 5, after which we have been singing as part of the worship team at our church. I have sung several solos as specials during the services.
--Began singing in a choir at age 6-16 while I was being homeschooled. I then joined the choir at the community college, which performed locally as well as toured in Santa Barbara where we sang for churches, Santa Barbara Community College and UCSB for the music professors and students.
--I have been taking private lessons off and on since age 10
--I started doing musical theater and opera in a summer vocal institute at age 12-14 (my first year, I was asked on dress rehearsal to do a small solo speaking part because the other girl was sick, and I memorized a page of lines on the spot so we could practice them) While there I experienced being in many different well known shows, such as: "Westside Story," "The Music Man," "La Traviata," "Carmen," "My Fair Lady," "Sweeney Todd," and several others!
--I was also involved as chorus and extras needed like in the small opera company in my town.
--Have been dancing off and on since age 15, and performed in productions of "The Nutcracker," "Alice in Wonderland" and the local community college dance studio performance, "The Dance Matrix."
--I started acting classes at age 11 with a homeschooling teacher in the community until age 16, and performed different plays after every semester. Many of the plays were written and directed by the teacher, but we also performed many of the well known stories such as: "Anne of Green Gables" (I played 2 of the smaller roles in the story), "Pollyanna" (I played the role of Nancy), scenes from "Pride and Prejudice" (I was Lady Catherine de Burgh) "The Happiest Millionarre" (I was the main housekeeper/cook and had a dancing/singing part with the other 2 main characters), and several other stories adapted either from the book or movie. My final role was in a play adapted from the story of Emma Edmonds during the Civil War. (I had a principal role as Emma's true friend and confidante)
